Since I was 14 years old we were taught to hide.
We were taught to huddle in a corner and stay quiet.
You watch on the TV as your fellow citizens die,
But you are judged when scared enough to riot.
I was 14 years old when 20 young babies were slaughtered,
I was on the bus with my classmates and my first thought who would shoot first.
You think of what’d you do if you had to go through that horror.
Would you try to be the hero or be the first to disperse?
Two drills a year and yet you’ll never be prepared,
If someone you know decides to kill your friends.
You hope and pray that maybe your life will be spared,
But you watch as it all comes to an end.
This is more than a gun problem, this is more that we know.
A gun may be a problem but it's the mind behind the gun.
The troubled kid can walk into a Walmart and buy an AR-15 with ammo,
And shoot somebody’s son.
There is no help for those in need,
Their only escape is to act with hate.
Help those in need.
Stop the hate.
Save our lives,
Save their lives.
Stop this horror that is 86 school shootings since Sandy Hook,
Stop this horror that is number will keep rising since Parkland.
We walk-out to express our fear,
To spark a change that we hope is near.
Change is now.
