Censorship

Clothed in Lies

Tread carefully now

Skirt around the truth

Because the weak tremble

In the presence

Of honesty

Of realness

Of authenticity

Veil the integrity of your word

Cloak yourself in lies

Soften the blow

Of harsh reality

To make them comfortable

Hide your genuine self

To suit the needs of your

Most fearful overlords

Dance naked and laugh

As all your bits jiggle

But only do so in private

They can't see the realness

Of your nudity

What you really are beneath

All those lies that clothe you

They too are clothed in lies

Unaware of the parts of them

That jiggle unsettlingly

Unaware of their true selves

Of their feelings

Their thoughts

And opinions

Of what they could be

If they were as

Uncensored and free

As we are

They don't know what they feel

Because they aren't allowed

To really feel it

They're given plastic ideas

Fake and brittle

How easily they break

But they cling to them

Plant them in a Styrofoam earth

They foster them

Strengthen then

Or they believe they do

But plastic cannot grow

Styrofoam cannot nurture it

There is nothing there

The plant is an illusion

Fed to brainwashed minds

They are drones

Mindless, unknowing

Never feeling

Never seeing

Dead inside

But they'll never know

They'll never learn the truth

About the Creator

A. R. Ambrosi

I like to write, if that makes me a writer, then rock on!

I started writing as a child because I ran out of stuff to read. So, I only write stuff that I like. If you like it too, awesome! Enjoy! ^_^
