Cavalier

Her love

By James KillmerPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Looking out upon the meadow a silhouette appears

A cavalier in silvery armor rides forward

On his gold enshrined horse

Magnificence strikes upon her eyes

Falling in love at first sight

His presence strikes deep in her heart

A man her dreams encompass

Deep into her eyes he stares

A fervent desire of her enchantment

He'll draw his mighty sword for her protection

He'll slay any evil that will blow her way

She's everything he hoped for in his heart

Loving her loving him a desire of his

Oh the days get longer

Cavalier rides to distant lands

The castle an empty shell

Loneliness succumbs her

Nothing she can embrace

Unsure future if he'll return

She visions his face

Cavalier struck down in his boots

Blood enshrouds his uniform

Face wretched in pain he lays so still

Final resting place on the battle field

Riderless white stallion comes

Cavalier's sword dangles alone

Tears run down her sad soft eyes

Her heart cries out night after night

Flowing out of love from inside

Far upon the golden meadow

Visions the brave cavalier

Heaven bound to the clouds

A dashing cavalier loss forever
