Carpe Diem

A Poem

Carpe Diem.

I’ve been blown out a few times, but I am a relentless flame.

When they lay this body to rest, they’ll all remember my name.

Here lies the man that always got up and tried...

He never gave in & took it all in his stride.

He stretched out his hand to seize each day...

“Carpe Diem”

Is what he would say.

When life got tough he kept positive,

He always tried his best, What he had he would give.

He loved with all the extent of his heart...

Every sad ending began a new start.

He was never one to sit & waste away.

A faithful man...

Who would never stray.

He stretched out his hand to seize each day...

“Carpe Diem”

Is what he would say.

Forever the opportunist & optimist.

But never claimed to be a saint.

There are many things that I have been...

So many things I aint.

Overall throughout my life...

There’s been a motto so fitting so right...

Carpe Diem (Seize the day)...

Kept me believing all would be alright.

So I stretch out my hands, I seize each day...

“Carpe Diem” lights my way.

I grasp with these hands, squeeze life out of each day.

“Carpe Diem” lights my way.
