What is seen
When you look in the mirror
Is it the reflective glaze
Of your most terrifying fears
Is it the sorrow
That seeps past your eyes
Like a river of tears
Is there anger
Ravishing much destruction
To the base of your core
Demolishing
Every sense of each wall
Down to its foundation
Do you see forgiveness
From every mistake
When the heart is mad
And the mind seeks
To rue what has made you so sad
Do you see the part
Where you are just human
One piece of the world
Connected to action
And reaction
Do you see the beauty
When you put it to rest
Relaxing the thoughts
That seem to put you to the test
Do you see the growth
When you can stand up
For your own
Do you see the dance
When you no longer feel alone
To hear the tune
That sparkles from your eyes
Seeing what changes
That can be made
Do you see the you
That you wish to be
To love again
To be free
About the Creator
Kayton Hickenlooper
I write to clear my mind. To get out of the fog of daily confusion. An artist by heart. To live, laugh, and grow.
