How can you write a poem about love
When you yourself can't put into words
The joy and comfort someone brings you.
It's like trying to paint a picture
Without having the brushes you need
to fully capture the image.
Or describing the sun to someone
Who lives in constant shadows,
Of rain, grief and pain.
The truth is; this poem is empty-
Because no combination of letters
And no matter how long I tap my pen,
Will make the right words flow
Correctly, from mind to page
To perfectly capture
How much I love you.
