Calloused Fingers

A spoken word poem about a boy i used to date.

I laid there letting his hands Trace my body like I was his canvas and his fingers the paintbrush. My heart raced, like the beginning of a drum solo.He whispered sweet nothings in my ear and for once I felt at peace...

Usually, I would have a thousand things- running through my head, where I was.who was around me.what I wore.If anyone was staring at me.but at that moment...

All I could think about...Was those calloused fingers.and how I felt Every single invisible patternYou drew on my body.

Your fingers would erupt a burning path Were ever you touched My soft delicate skin...Leaving a forest of goosebumps and open mouth kisses in its wake.
