...But God Loves You Anyway

Paint your lips into a smile

So that they don’t see your pain.

It’s unladylike to frown

And blasphemous to His Name.

You should be overwhelmed with joy

That He gave you another day!

And yet you cry like you’re going to die,

Sulking in your bitter shame.

I want to stitch your lips up to your cheeks

Your misery embarrasses me endlessly.

He has provided for you abundantly

But you whine because your sins are fathoms deep.

Obey your parents,

Though their words make you bleed.

Obey your teachers,

Though they guilt you with ease.

You deserve nothing

Just a spoiled little bitch!

You should be beaten,

Your guilt as your switch!

And yet you’re unthankful

Spoiled and ungrateful.

But God loves you anyway,

Because his love is unconditional.
