Burning My Skin
A Poem

The Sun gets in my eyes
It makes feel like I’m alive
Energy going through
But sometimes I get out of its way
It’s always calling me
‘Cause I can’t seem to obey
Rules and authorities
Causing plights and disarray
But I can only be me
-
Under the sun
I get turned on
I feel real
Always burning my skin
-
My life, a path of turns
Mostly guided in the dark
Listened to many
Now I seem to lack plenty
But not in my heart
The Sun peels a new skin
Burning hotter than
Me fucking in the dark
-
Always a new person
Whenever I see the Sun
The past just ashes
Of whom I was
And now I’m a new God
In a new chapter
Burning away my skin
Forever in sin
