Bull Dogs and Eagles

A Poem

A pity. A shame. A pretentious grin.

Leaders of men. And women. Of us all.

Yet stark contrast. Albeit expected.

The consensus of a better tomorrow over shadowed.

The magnitude of a lie, it's zenith.

The light darkens and the air is crisp.

Unrest clouds clear thought and judgement.

Distant gun fire, closer than it sounds.

And a siren. A flash.

All will be well? Is that a lie? Or one of them?

Men in suits with less honour than a thief.

Much less.

Idiocentricity of society. A burden to burn.

No care has continued, nor bothers me again.

Two Thousand, nine hundred and Twenty.

Count it down. At least.

Two Thousand, nine hundred and nineteen...
