Bubble Tea and Truth

This poem is about one of my close friends. This poem is about being the outsider in a toxic relationship. Seeing the truth, but not being able to do anything about it.

If I could sit down and have bubble tea with you, I would tell you the truth.

You are in over your head, dealing with those who will never help themselves.

She will help herself to your money and belongings.

What is hers is hers, and what is yours is also hers.

It's a one-way street and goes deeper than material possessions.

She latches onto your soul like a bear trap and vows to never let go.

She manipulates you into taking care of her.

She throws fits and cries on command.

She always must have her way.

How you feel will never matter.

She uses this behavior to appear fragile and unfit for the real world.

You will believe she can't possibly hold a job.

This is because she is determined not to work.

She is determined to have you slave over a hot stove, prepare all her meals and work your butt off to support her.

Her mental health issues make it hard for you to keep friends or stay in contact with those around you.

It's all an act.

She is the spider.

You are the fly.

She will wrap you in a cocoon and suck your life blood out.

You will be left paralyzed and drained.

Then she will grow bored and find her next victim.

She is always on the lookout for her next victim.

She soils the reputation of those who support her, those who give her a place to stay and keep her off the streets.

You will be discarded like trash.

Don't let her put you out at the curb.

You deserve better than this.

I wish you could see through her.

There is a reason why your friends and family don't want her around.

She uses you up and will leave you for dead.

It's a pattern that spans decades.

She speaks ill of you behind closed doors and puts on a show in the public eye.

She convinces strangers that you abuse her.

She cried wolf too many times, and I see through all her lies.

Only she is a terrible actress and many of us on the outside see right through these performances.

If I could sit down and have bubble tea with you, I would enlighten your mind.

I would let you know that I worry and that I care about you.

You deserve an equal.

You deserve someone who will take you by the hand and guide you up the mountain, not someone who will spit in your face and kick you repeatedly until you fall off the path and down the hill face first.

You won't know up from down by the time she is done with you.

Evil breeds in the heart of women.

Their victims are the innocent, and she will turn on you at the drop of a hat.

Rock bottom does have a basement, and I have been there.

If I could have bubble tea with you, I would use my mind to heal your wounds.

I would let you know that you matter, and though life may kick you when you are down, you always get up again.

I would explain to you my frustration with seeing you treated this way.

My frustration with seeing you haul a wheelbarrow filled with boulders up a hill barefoot, while she sits on top of them and tells you to move faster.

Only her happiness matters.

You, my friend, are a pawn in this game of chess that you are losing.

I am the queen and thought I may have limited movement, I have power and see through the pains that are everyday life.

I have my own struggles and own kingdom to rule, but you have always been there for me and that will never be forgotten.

In my darkest hour, you were the person I reached out for, and you have never disappointed me or told me a lie.

Your word means something, and that says allot in today's world.

I see the truths you are blind to or have closed your eyes from.

Only you can break this vicious cycle of chaos.

Too many years, I have prayed for you.

Once it runs out, her well of love for you will run dry.

Be prepared to make it in this world alone.

Only then will you know your own self-worth.
