Broken Silence

Be Offended or Allow Change

You say you know me

But when's the last time before this moment you told me that?

Couldn't tell me off the top of your head

So I guess that remark was irrelevant

I'm not coming off rude

You've just been conditioned to believe that

The truth will make you feel convicted

And then you have two choices:

Turn your back on it or face it

Think of how I may feel

I won't make you,

But if only you put yourself in my shoes

You would see or know how hard it may be to have to be the one to tell you

I want to see change

Get out of your current cycles

For there are lessons to be learned and they all don't have to be negative

I know because these days I no longer cry but smile

I chose to get out of that ugly cycle of mine

And while you may think I'm ugly for the truth I speak,

If I was to die today

I bet your ego would die along with me

And you would just see the beautiful soul that once had been placed inside me

Although I would get the praise

It was not I who taught you,

But it was the spirit in me
