Broken Man

A Poem

a broken man in love with a wonderful woman

But this wonderful woman's heart belongs to better men

Though the broken man knows not reason for this attraction

Though his love for her everlasting

Helps him to stand

Though she'd never consider him

Friendship what she sees in him

And nothing more

The broken man opens

She closes the door

Gently, in the nicest way possible

The same doors he's used to seeing

Deadbolts and tossing the key

Thinking 😔 it's obvious he wasn't worth it

He's far from perfect

Knowing her worth

She fixates eyes towards better service

Her class

Or something much similar

Someone more qualified

May give rise to her temperature

So be it

He thought cause he couldn't take more of it

Therefore loves for the privileged

And He hopes she's enjoying it

More than he can fathom

Or even imagine

The definition of love

Is based on a first attraction

Not on understanding

The individual's heart

Every fiber of their being

One acknowledge from start

The determination presented

Igniting a spark

Between the two of you

Man and woman's challenging course

Which we give up on constantly

Pointing our fingers

Thinking nobody here is good enough

Put up fences not needed

You may as well

Put up a wall to defend from yourself

But God forbid

You dancing in this waltz by yourself

Theres someone for everyone

An associate mentioned

It's best you forget about her

Than remain in detention

People get overlooked

on a day to day basis

And settle for something else

That's not anticipated

That's something you'll have to deal with

Besides the negative statements

Permeating

Admitted with much falsification

Never give up hope though

Someone acknowledged you

Think of it as her loss

And never once trusting you

heartbreak
