Broken Hearts Eventually Shatter

Don't Wake Me Up

Believe in the stars that shine up above,

Reach high for them in that deep blue sky.

Open your heart, fill it with love,

Keep the tears falling, until you're run dry.

Eyes looking forward, up and beyond,

Never forget that one special bond.

Hearing the music, ringing in my ears,

Empty words but the melody speaks to me.

After the song ends, I once again feel my fears,

Right along the line, long to be free.

Take out the silence, no more quiet,

Shake up the crowd, make it a riot.

Enter the abyss, just don't get lost,

Verify this, no matter the cost.

Exit left, don't look back,

Night time is here, sunlight turns black.

Turn on the lights, scatter the shadow,

Under the night sky, dancing below.

Anticipate daydreams, never forget,

Living the real life is no threat.

Listen to my words, and you will see,

You'll be fine, yes, you and me.

Stare into my eyes, see the stars from there,

How the moon it starts to disappear.

After this, the sun begins to rise,

Taking away the black and blue skies.

Tell me once, tell me twice, tell me three times,

Every day that no matter rain or shine,

Reality is no better than a dream, and even if you go, you'll always love me.

About the Creator

Elizabeth Mustain

Hi, my name is Elizabeth. What I write can be a bit sad, as I've suffered from depression, and honestly still fight it every day. Writing has helped a lot with it though, and hopefully, my words will be able to move you, even a little bit.
