Broken From the Start

You were broken and so was I

I didn’t know it till we both cried

I was lost and had no clue you were

Waiting to end it through and through

It wasn’t over yet

So we fought together and stayed true

Till we hit the rocks that cut your skin and left

you even more broken within

I’m sorry I couldn’t see past the hurt I felt I’m

Sorry the pain wasn’t able to melt I tried

through my pain got in the way of your broken

We should have been able to mend the

unspoken. If I know now what I should’ve

known then maybe we wouldn’t have ended up

How we are now then. I couldn’t fix someone

who was as broken as me we stopped talking

and covered ourselves with sleeves. If I could

go back I wouldn’t have let myself be a burden

I’d have kept my mouth shut. Yes it’d have gone

on but we wouldn’t be here you wouldn’t be there

and I’d be more near. With everything past

that we've been through and more I’m sorry that

you had to close that door. I’ll always be there

for you whenever you need even though we’re

in the same league you're better I’m sure now

that it’s done and I’m gone I’m glad you are.
