Broken

Beyond Repair

They threw words at her like sticks and stones

The intent was to dismantle each and every bone

She never brought anyone harm

Despite the tremor her face revealed calm

She smiled in a broken way and backed away

To them she had nothing to say

She ran off to her room and closed the door shut

She was deeply painfully wounded and cut

Her eyes gave away her composed identity

Those questions of concern later she couldn't flee

She buries her face between her knees burying her cry

Hugging them as tight so now none would pry

If you see her along the way somewhere walking by

In a low gentle voice sing her the lullaby

Hush lil baby don't you weep no more

Those crystals flow as eyes turn sore

Oh lil baby hang on just a lil more

With Time shall approach an open door

There you shall cry no more

Your precious gaze will have no more tears to bore....
