Breathe In.
I close my eyes as I try to sleep,
But my mind wonders uncontrollably
Breathe Out.
It goes to my health first,
Thinking of the next blood test, the next scan,
The results I dread every time.
Breathe In.
I know I’m fine; I know if I keep at good health,
I will be fine,
But my head doesn’t agree.
Breathe Out.
I start to think about my future.
Will my kids have this?
Will I need a tank? An operation?
Breathe In.
But I will be fine. I will carry on.
I will fight whatever comes my way.
Breathe Out.
Finally Sleep.
