State of mind

I find

...........…me

As a silly girl

I thought

that

The key

To finding

Me

Was being

Skinny…

Boy was I wrong

You see

Because it does not matter

What size or shape

You dwell

Within

It is about

your mindset

And the

way you are

Living

Misled by society

and fear of my peers

I hid in a shell

Away from the world

Thinking all the while

I was hiding myself well

But truth be told

I was the one

hurting myself

taking my own dreams

and putting them on the shelf

And yet in 2009

I find

That releasing

My mind

Through abstract thoughts

Written by my pen

Allows access to the soul

That leads

to the me..... within
