There she sat,
Upon her flowery bed,
Mysterious as the night sky, which
Watched over, stars twinkling in the distance.
Abandoned by my fellow players, was I,
Left alone in a wood.
But then this creature, this nymph comes down
And commands that in this wood I shall stay,
Whether I wilt or no.
All I could think was this was easily the
Most beautiful being to grace my sight.
The way she glided across the ground, and
The ease with which she moved, this was her kingdom.
Her movements were graceful, commanding, yet
Inviting and warm. The touch of her hand
Brought about a sizzle within my chest.
This is a woman’s woman, I thought.
Sexed, intelligent, she knew exactly what she wanted.
The next thing I know, I find myself
In the most lavish of bowers, attendants
Hustle and bustle to serve their queen and
Her newfound ass whatever their hearts desired.
We laughed and laughed, spoke tales of days gone by.
Gentleman, this a single moment in time that I shall never
Forget. This woman was a fairy amongst mortals,
A queen amongst the peasants, and yet I was shown the
Love and tenderness of a human.
Man’s eye hath not heard, his ear hath not seen.
His hand cannot taste,
Nor his heart report, what this dream was.
A moment trapped in amber,
Immortalized.
‘Twas a bottomless dream that began to fill
The heart shaped hole in my chest.

Lucas James Nelson
I am a theatre artist with a deep love for words in all shapes, sizes, and sounds. Shakespeare has become one of my biggest influences because he taught me that words are meant to be heard, expressed, and shared. Art is our expression.
