A Body's Geography

Body's geography

Every scar is known to you

Every limb you've held of mine

Every tear that has talked you've caught

Every darkness that has surrounded me

You've chased away

Every hospital visit

Every birthday party

Every sunrise every sunset

Every sunny day full of sunshine and heat

Every rainy day full of clouds and coldness

My hands you would hold for hours

My legs you would pay while you tell it'll be okay

My heart you've kept safe all this time

You're the only one that knows my body's geography

Space between my fears

My nightmares are not full of darkness

They are full of happy things

But things I could never have

Therefore they are nightmares

I could never have you

And yet I do right now in this moment

I told you everything and anything

You listen and comfort me and hug me as I cry

You know my fears all of them

And you don't laugh at me because they are small fears

You kill the spiders for me and any insects for that matter

You don't laugh at me when you meet my crazy family

You don't laugh at me when I tell you I have to have my blanket

You just love me and that clears all my tears

You are the space between my fears
