Blurred Eutopia

Mental Health Poem

Interrupted happiness

Two against one

Forgotten feelings

Escaping air

Limited breath

Give me a reason to breathe

Disrupted eutopia

Misplaced map

Who’s on my team

Blurred vision

Threat of the future

Suffocating past

Sickening present

One-way gifts

Giving, giving

Gone.

Overstuffed bags

Under my eyes

Lost in a dream

Nightmarish necessity

Never really asleep

Pinch me

Am I unconscious yet?

Give me a reason to put my feet

Back on the ground

Somewhere I won’t slip

And fall for...

getting how to feel

Interrupt my suffocation

Interpret my heavy eyelids

Twitching with anxiety

Threat of the past

Sickening future

Two against one

Losing, losing,

Lost.

Just

Breathe

Never

Sleep

Do I have a team

In this dysphoric dystopia

Going, going

Here.

Is it a gift

To breathe

One way

Dreaming of a map

A path

Levitating

Just two inches

Above the stability

The ground offers

Against one

Fluttering eyelashes

Enforcing instability

Uneven wavelengths into and from my brain

I don’t remember

How to stand

Everything’s a blur

In this unreliable eye

Nonconsensual consciousness

Pinch me.
