Blue

A Poem by Lauren Palmeria

My world was grey.

Until one day,

You came and said hello.

Then right on time,

that world of mine.

Became a shade of yellow.

My world was bright,

Even at night,

you were brighter than the stars.

Then right on time,

That world of mine.

Became that world of ours.

Our world was wide,

And warm inside.

As warm as it could be.

And before we knew,

Our world of two,

Became a world of three.

Our little boy,

Brought us so much joy.

Happiness and more.

And to our glee,

Our world of three

became a world of four.

Our little girl,

Became our world.

Just as did our son.

Before you know,

You watch them grow,

Their lives had just begun.

My world was grey,

And then one day,

You gave me a home.

Kids I adore,

And so much more.

A family to call my own.

And then one day,

You had to go away.

I said goodbye to you.

From that day on,

The yellow had gone.

And now my world is blue.
