Blood Soaked Hands

Abundance of Blood

Our oceans are drowning,

Overwhelmed by our waste,

The sea pronounces,

Over and over,

In a hoarse whisper,

Salt is replaced with pepper.

it's apparent the ocean is no longer whispering to us; it is screaming,

"You are killing me."

But beneath that scream, it is still whispering, and it is saying,

"You are killing yourselves.

out-of-sight, out-of-mind,

consequences.

gyre of plastics, implications.

They cannot blind us. fore we do not see,

Think, or care.

Dolphins laugh to keep from crying

as our neglect becomes their poison.

Entanglement,

Designed to last forever.

the mountains

to the sea.
