Blindfolded

A Poem

How come wanting to be with you

comes with its own problems?

Blindfolded

Truth is harder to handle

When everyone around me

Can see you fine

but I separate what they see

From who you are around me

Blindfolded

Why do you make me weak?

I tell myself that I'm not

but everyone says I've changed

That being around you makes me melt

Makes me fall through the clouds

Makes me lose my wings

Blindfolded

So wrapped up in how this feels

In your arms

So close to your heart

But so far away from anything real

Separated from reality by transparent glass

and cruel fantasy

Blindfolded

Jealousy isn't like me

but your feelings for her drive me insane

I feel the same way

about you

But what does it matter

because when I'm around you I can fly

I don't want to be

Blindfolded
