Bleeding Heart

A Poem

A poem that shows not every heartbeat can easily be stopped.

My heart beats

Even through it's battered and bruised

My heart still bearts for you

Even through it bleeds

My heart still beats

Some may call it a miracle

But that's far from the truth

My heart is stubborn

So am I

Even through you left

I still believe you would come back

Some called me a fool

But I couldn't give up on you or us

I should have seen the signs

They were clear as day

From the way you stopped looking at me with stars in your eyes

To not saying goodbye

Even though I begged you to stay

You just looked away

Now here I stand

With my heart in my hands

Tears in my eyes

Saying my long time goodbyes.
