Blank Canvas

Poem #2

The morning light peeked in through the dark oblivious curtains

Creating a dancing sparkle of sun to jolt her eyes open from a deep sleep

With a stretch of her arms and a sway of her hips she moved herself effortlessly

Gliding through the halls as if dancing to an unsung tune only she could hear

Moving through the motions of a practiced morning routine

She sipped her coffee while staring into the blank canvas that stared back

Waiting for it to speak a story that desperately needed to be spoken

Her brows furrowed in a deep determination to understand the unspoken words

With her pen in one hand and the empty canvas smiling a familiar gleam

She wrote the words that would conquer the world
