Black and White

The Forgotten Ones...

I am black and white

Never relevant

Never at the bottom

or at the top

Like a blacksheep

I am an outcast

A hybrid and a mixed breed

Got the worst nickname

Yet I am unseen.

We are black and white

Our opinions matter

Only in this race war

When we vote

We are not offended

By your insults

Calling us 'hottnots'

It never define us

And we don't act like it hurts.

We aren't 'coloureds'

Kinda' peacekeepers

Stuck right in the middle

Never proceeding

Taking in all the punches

Starving, suffocating,

and bleeding

The glue, so invisible

We keep together all the pieces.
