Bittersweet

Midnight Perspective

It's bittersweet because

beneath the heat of my love

a cold heart shudders me sleep

makes me weak, it does

It's bittersweet because

I believe and I trust

that what became of lust

poured out of "we"

thoughts for each of us

it's bittersweet because

from Venus the distance between us

is clearer to see

can't compete enough

from easy touch to blush,

it's bittersweet because

of where it ends up inevitably

broken pieces of

a receding crutch, continue to clutch

never boring but

it's bittersweet because

they only needed one

but underneath it all

a seething song was played to release the feelings more robust

it's bittersweet because

looking back at once

racks the thought and thus

blacks out "could've been" and "once was"

though it's almost done

it's bittersweet because

the truth has relaxed implacably back into its forefront

and lacking surely stung

drastic if you're the only one

it's bittersweet because

actually you're many of

but we give a counter shrug

insurmountable

acting as amicable yourself allows you to

it's bittersweet because

by this time it's bulletproof

there's no sneaking us

I can see it nearer too but I'm through hoping for requited love

it's bittersweet because

fewer routes spewed doubts

what you learn when you know it all is what counts, after that it does
