Bittersweet

a lot can change in a year

strangers can become lovers

and lovers can become strangers

strong hatred can grow into love

and love can grow into hatred

although you are no longer mine

my love still remains

and as I watch you fall in love with somebody else

a part of me is content

to know that you are happy and doing well

but a green-eyed monster creeps inside of me

begging for you to notice me

to think of me as much as I think of you

to love me even the slight

despite it being incomparable

to the love that I give.
