Birthday

I remember the day you got here all covered in goo,

I thought of all the wonderful things you would do

I held you in m arms and stroked your head,

While your mother recovered in the hospital bed

She was so brave and strong I was amazed,

I love her for so many reasons I can't count the ways

You are our creation a little version of us

And we just love you so much

We'd give you the world, the stars and, the moon,

We settled for toys and books to fill your room

There's so much to show and wisdom to give,

I promise to love you for as long as I live
