Bested by a Kiss

Breast against breasts as we fall asleep in the same position we left off in. Waking up then, to the sound of her still sleeping and her hands from a cuddle too being a wrapped around hug against my back,

I take a minute to appreciate these small moments of bliss, instances of collaborative compilations of the percolated good morning coffee daydreams of waking up together. Envisions of our day’s entails all taken in as I manage to sneak away to get dressed.

I bring up a cup of good morning and put it on the table beside the bed, her smile wakes up before her eyelids lift to my favorite site... Suddenly all the wonderful thought-up things to say had left my mouth before I could contemplate the words out loud. Her half-measured smile appears as quickly as her good morning against my lips. After all the coffee daydreams, fantasies of how our day would be spent and all the wonderful things I said...I realized, shit...

I've been bested by a kiss.
