Why love yourself?

Moments, thoughts, trauma,
you suffer, are shaken, lose faith.
Find yourself.
Rediscover.
What you have to offer.
A unique perspective
unlike any other.
Imperfections pave way
and tug each string of insecurity.
For when we love ourselves
our mother’s love is seen so purely.
To you I, a friend,
a stranger,
another lie?
To that I say
Love will never lead you astray
Believe in yourself
today.
Definitely still rough, but to the same degree roughly authentic from my heart. Imperfect, but I read through it and smile. Hoping to continue trying to challenge myself to write throughout the year, but glad I was able to put this together. If it helps one person love themselves a little more then hey that’s everything. Have a few personal projects and goals I’ve set for myself throughout the year. The way we communicate in this world is key to so many relationship, outcomes, and opportunities. But just as important as that is it might be even more important to listen to one another. Maybe that’s my next dive. Who knows?

I promise her. I'd do anything for her. She's my mom. Even as Lanie and Deanna are flying home, Mom is scrappy fighting dying. It Only Took One Minute.......
It only took a minute. I was sitting at the computer in my office when the phone rang. I picked up the receiver and then laid it down my desk as I went to find the student who the call was for. Within seconds I was back at my desk, ready to resume typing, when I heard the student yelling obscenities at me for listening in to his call through the handset that was still lying on the desk. Sick and tired of the lies he was spewing, I was up running down the hall, ready to kill him. By the time I reached him, I had calmed enough not to hurt him, but as I turned back towards my room, I knew that I couldn’t go on like this any longer. The decision was clear. I had to leave.
