Before It All Begun

A Poem

As the Autumn air carried me through the breeze,

I gazed in awe at the darkening colour of the leaves.

Changed from the depths of Green that they were.

Changed, as I was...before her.

As the sun gets lost slowly behind the early evening cloud

I was lost within her and to admit it I am not proud.

I was consumed and left completely confused.

Like the Flower that had been picked and was no longer wanted or used.

The Autumn soon turned to Winter and what a bitter Frost.

Alone again, I contemplated if it was worth the cost.

The snow fell and it was more Beautiful than I had ever seen.

Just as those leaves in Summer that were so wonderfully Green.

But the Snow melted in the Sun...

And we were over before we begun.

The Rain then fell from the sky.

I held back the tears in my eyes.

As I watched it all wash away.

There was nothing more that I could say.

It was as if none of it even meant a thing.

How I longed for the forthcoming Spring.

To feel the sun again against my face.

Defrost myself from the numb I become.

For to feel this season change again...

Would be like to go back to before it all begun.
