Becoming Your Foe

Sometimes, by preventing the actions of your enemy, you're no better than them.

There's a threat on the horizon.

Infinite mass or infinitesimal,

I must erase the progress it makes.

Weapons are grouped together,

Reforces multiply,

I start to feel... different,

But it'll probably drag my fears downward.

As we are set to battle,

My transformation uniforms me,

But my lingering goal snatches my focus.

The battle is over

The threat has become ashes

Joining Fall leaves in the wind.

From the reflection of a weapon,

I glance at the threat again

And prepare to attack until...

It has copied my motions,

There's a slight difference from the others.

What wanted to evade the attack,

Developed different tactics for the same outcome.
