Becky's Bright Boy Billy

A casualty of war.

Becky's bright boy Billy

went away to war.

He left willingly,

didn't ask what for.

Told to look for weapons.

Told to set people free.

Becky's boy did his job

very courageously.

Becky's boy returned home

to loving arms and hearts.

Came back home incomplete,

missing some body parts.

Becky dared not ask Billy

what his suffering was for;

Just quietly accepted

the consequences of war.

Joyful, not happy, cause that depends on something or someone. Regardless of whether the sun is blazing, the clouds are hovering or the sky is weeping, we can have joy.
