Beauty Is Only Skin Deep

Self-Appreciation

When a young girl looks at a supermodel she dreams of one day to be like her

She looks at all her flaws yet forgetting how pretty she is while starring in the mirror

Although, when she gets older she notices that her body has changed…it left her astir

She remembered watching her weight shift and her outlook on life change

No longer was her self-esteem low and she embraced her body

Lessons learned through pain that helps individual to grow

She blossomed into a beautiful person some would say a hottie

The media projects an image that thin is what is required in life to win

While people are Anorexia or Bulimia dying to be someone else

Appearances will change throughout life even the skin

One day we are young then we begin to have gray hair as we age

Inner beauty is what makes a person appear to a person as appealing

That is why a person can be sociable in an event to engage

Now when the young girl that looked in the mirror she has a story to tell

Woman come in all different shapes, sizes, and races

Not everyone will be a supermodel or have a chance to live that fairy tale

The mirror is a split image of who you are, yet you are so much more

Never tear down a foundation that is not even finished

When an individual tells you what to change choose to ignore

When you look in the mirror say, “I am beautiful in and out”

Your attitude will change, and your confidence will increase

The person you have become just scream and shout

Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it- Confucius

Never look at someone to uplift them to only put yourself down

Therefore, you must believe in yourself and feel complete
