Beautiful Lies

Denied

People can be cruel in the nicest of ways

You can feel bad for her and say

"I'll make her day"

"You're beautiful" you lied in the comments below

She believed you and you watched

Her false confidence grow

"You're repulsive" a comment of honesty shows

Same picture

Now she's confused

What did you do?

"Why do you look like that?" another asks

The confidence fades

She comments back

"But according to her I'm beautiful"

"She lied you moron. She knew she was wrong, she just pitied you like the rest of us do"

She now looks in the mirror

Sees what you meant

The compliment isn't true

And now thanks to you

The slight hope you gave her dies

And she wants to, too

Why live when you know any good deed toward you is a bust?

She feels like she must

Stop being a burden on your timeline

Making you choose to tell lies

She knows you were trying to be nice

But it was all fake

She looks in the mirror again

She doesn't think of the honest people

She thinks of the one that gave her hope

It's not the fact that you were kind

It's the fact that what was behind your words

Wasn't what she needed at the time

You didn't really think that

And now your impact

Has her jump from the chair in which she had sat

When she uploaded her final picture

With a rope around her neck

And a note that said

"I couldn't handle being beautiful"

By her bed

Now she hangs, and you are to blame
