Beat of my Heart

I breathed the wet sand

as I sat on the beach

reviving memories that were lost

in an endeavor to keep up with life

So composed and thankful

for once I felt, appreciating

the splendour of the setting sun…

While dazzling rays rekindled

a favoured desire to surface

the beat of my heart

didn’t impede

reminiscing my quest of finding love-

coddling my excitement

and a moment of hope

as I cherished the beauty around…

Not far from the shore,

danced the waves so vividly

endorsing their eternal love

their soulful music

I heard so distinctly

such tranquil beauty

for a moment, I sensed envy

and urged to take me along-

In awe, my curious senses pondered

the zeal of the waves

gashing through the teasing wind

while I revered

the vivacity of the waves

flaunting such passion

they kissed to unite into one-

I implored

this moment not to cease

as a gust of wind

brushed across

I heard so discreet

and yet so profound

a hymn to the angel of ocean

declaring their endless love…

asserting to follow my heart

as I wondered what it is
