She leaned back

Letting the sand exfoliate tired hands and they dove deep within its reach

She watched

As the wind sailed her exhale into the waiting waves

She listened

The spray of waves, broken on boulders at bay whisper sweet nothings

She shivered

The cold piercing, contradicting the golden rays as they waned

The sun inching lower, drawn by the sea's sweet melody

She was still

So as not to miss one beat

As the sun quietly, quickly began its decent

Delving into the secrets of the sea

Down into the depths with crushing gravity and a perfect peace

She smiled

As tranquility erupted in a spring of colors that created a playful scene

Purple hues fused with golden underlines to the babiest of blues

Splaying pink tints who played, bouncing over the rolling waves

She gave thanks

For the small taste of freedom found in fleeting sunsets on the beach
