Beach Lullaby

Sweet Goodnight

Incoming storm at dusk

Salt air at night

Sand ground into flip-flops

I miss the sound

Soft sweet beach breeze

sha-shush

sha-shush

Skateboard on the sidewalk in the distance

Soft salty supple skin

Magic beach fog

Hot burn of the man-o-war that never quite leaves you

My favorite lullabye

A soft voice below my window

Barely loud enough to catch the breeze

The surf gently sings

A steady lull of energy

Transferring power from one shore to another

A gentle roaring

Push and pull

Lullabye tides

Neither creating nor destroying balance

sha-shush

sha-shush

ka-click

Drift away

Beach lullabye

About the Creator

J S

Born in the mile-high city and transplanted to the beach just in time for my adolescent and teenage years, I find inspiration and peace in nature.
