Battle with the Demons

Coping with Depression

Lonely, Yet Never Alone

He’s blank

Hands on his face

Trying to think

Of not to leap

A few hundred feet

Is all it would take

To make it all

End in a blink

Tears flowing

Like a river through a canyon

Yet these tears come from something

Not as beautiful As open water

In his mind

A battle takes place

Between angels and demons

How long will it take

Fighting for his life

The demons take the lead

Sadly so suddenly

He is falling

The few hundred feet

Hello, my name is Michael. I wrote this poem on a night I didn’t think I would make it through. I share this poem now, because I know there are so many other people going through similar things. You are not alone, and I just proved that with what you read. All of us are in this together, and if you are struggling, don’t be scared to reach out to someone. I hope you enjoy my creations, because they are all genuinely from the heart. Thank you for reading, and never forget that you are uniquely one of a kind. Smile, you beautiful human!
