Banknotes

Do you use more paper money in your dealings or less?

The US and Europe's bills.

Black, brown, yellow, white

And red are the paints

That tint the canvas

Of humanity.

Currencies come in

More colors: blue, green,

Pink, to state a few.

Why don’t we see the

Colors of money

Instead of hues of

Skin? As paper cash

Becomes a thing of

The past, we can at

Least celebrate its

Once dominant hold

On our culture. The

Rappers who hold large

Stacks of dollars to

Their ears, and the glut

Of bills that rain down

From ceilings so that

The many might clutch

Them. We should always

Remember that cloth

Makes up most banknotes.

That’s the real fabric

Of our lives. Even

If all those dollars

Were to disappear,

We could still see their

History and just

Reflect on their might.
