Bananas for Breakfast

Barely into the day

And I already feel the urge

Not to eat fruit, per se,

And not even to purge,

Nor for something yellow

Although I can’t help myself

Sometimes… listen:

Five days a week,

Only since Christmas, I’ve found myself

Returning to the fruit bowl and grabbing them in pairs

Bunches of them sit there, patiently waiting, while

Real men go for black pudding, apparently.

Every food has its own strengths, this one makes you smile

And brings more benefits, many silently.
