Away from the Dance Floor

A Poem

I've lost all feeling

I've got no rhythm

But sometimes

It comes back in an instant

So I get up to the dance floor

Into the spotlight

But something doesn't feel right

They're all waiting

Just make a move

At least improvise

Don't let the music die

I've lost all feeling

I've got no rhythm

But sometimes

it comes back in an instant

You know me

I've got to be motivated

A little pick me up

And by nightfall

I don't want to be another one

up on the wall

Out on the dance floor is where I want to belong

Any kind of music

Any kind of song

But I kind of hoped you'd come along

Don't you feel so strongly at the sound of music?

I've recovered my motivation

I hope not to lose it

I've lost all feeling

I've got no rhythm

But sometimes

It comes back in an instant

Question what happened

I used to be so entertained

But lately, everything feels so restrained

Theres no music

Even on full volume

I can do it so flawlessly

But it means nothing without you

So let them dance around me

with no pause button...

And then... all of a sudden

Don't you feel so strongly at the sound of music

I've recovered my motivation

I hope not to lose it

But I've lost all feeling

And I've got no rhythm

But sometimes

it comes back in an instant
