Autumn Falls

There was a subtle rain when the seasons changed.

it rains more often

now that summer ends

it is a salty rain that comes

from the sea

when the wind blows

and the wind blows colder now

there is a sad abundance

for nature knows that she

must die

or sleep prechance to dream

still the leaves are green

and the sun is warm

yet summer's end is in the air

and it's getting darker

day by day

the streets turn grey

but the cars keep rushing by

oblivious or maybe just indifferent

cut off from the changing

of the seasons
