Autumn Change

Poem

The leaves are crisp and the air is sulphur filled.

We get cold easily and feel very chilled.

Trees are naked in the morning dew.

Snowflakes so soft, start falling all around you.

Icicles form on the branches, weighing them down.

Frost and shiny ice form on the ground.

Fierce winds blow through cobbled streets.

Sweet and pretty flowers admit defeat.

The fire’s smoke rising to the moon.

Not long to wait now Christmas will be here soon.

Autumn and winter are longer than summer and spring.

It is a quiet and eery thing.

Magic is what autumn and winter are about.

Hot tea steaming the cool windows from the spout.

Fireworks that light the sky in a show of colour.

Hedgehogs waddling down the lane.

Now the snow is melting in the rain.

It is not over yet it has just started.

The frost and the water are parted.

Winter is probably the sad season.

It is a murky time for no particular reason.

We are ready for the same.

We are prepared for the autumn change.
