The mirror showed a reflection that wasn't my own. He told me it wouldn't be, and still seeing another set of eyes, another jawline (this one be-jowled and puffy), another pair of hands, everything in perfect synchronicity with my movements, was an effing trip.

Even as you make out the shadow of the monster beneath, the waves reset and your brain is left again unsure about whether the threat was imaginary, or perhaps very real.

There weren't always dragons in the Valley, but the price of Scale had exploded. With the growing war in the Badlands and subsequent demand for supplies and armor, Drake Barons flooded into whatever land might sustain additional herds. One must only look to where Coin can be had, and there you'll find man. And where there is man, so there are dragons.
