Under Ten Project Series
As with my cheap meal series, I also like to make crafts, but I am sometimes short on cash. So this series includes some projects that are lots of fun and are cheap to make. Again I found all of these things at my local Walmart because I am a savvy shopper who enjoys a bargain.

Under Ten Meal Series: Chicken and Dumplings
For today’s dinner I chose to make a comfort food favorite because my husband was feeling a bit blue. Chicken and dumplings was today’s menu item that I decided to tackle. I personally love this meal because it is so filling and hearty. However, I had never made this meal before and was a little unsure of how it was done. So I called up my mom and had her impart motherly wisdom upon my cooking venture. She always loves when I call her for recipes or cooking tips because I have never been the girliest girl on the block, so we haven’t bonded over cooking much and mom loves a chance to spend time with me even if I am an hour away from her. Not saying that cooking makes you girly, only saying that there is a special bond between mother and daughter that is formed over sharing recipes from family that has now passed on. Mom suggested that I use a dutch oven for this meal as it cooks the dumplings nicely. However, if you don’t own one of those you could use any old pot thats fairly deep and that you have a properly fitting lid for. As always, my shopping was done at Walmart if you would like to price compare to keep your meal cost as low as I have shown below.

Under Ten Meal Series: Pork and Bean Soup
For tonight’s supper I decided to cook something warm and savory because it is cold and dreary outside. I love a warm bowl of soup on a cold day. So I will be sharing the recipe for pork and bean soup. As always I did my shopping at Walmart to save some money.

Under Ten Project Series: DIY Marbled Mugs
This is the second in my series of cheap DIY projects that are easy and so much fun for under $10. These marbled mugs are beautiful and remind me of the glazes that I used in my college ceramics class. The marbling effect is unique and one of a kind. No two mugs will ever be exactly the same. Once again I will tell you that I got all of these supplies at my local Walmart because of the wonderfully cheap prices contained there.

Under Ten Meal Series
I, like many other Americans, work my 40 hours a week. The daily grind, or nightly grind in my case. I work overnights. I often find myself with too many bills and not as much money as I would like. I used to eat a lot of junk. My husband and I were going out to eat about four times a week or more. Not only was it bad for my body, it was also bad for my wallet. Recently I have been cooking at home most every evening before I head in to work and I have found that a lot of meals that I enjoy can be made for around 10$ and feed four-ish people depending on the people's appetites. My recipes are usually consumed by myself and several grown men with big appetites so you can generally assume these recipes will feed four very hungry people. So for my first post I will be covering Cheap Chicken Pot Pie. I remember my mother making something similar to this recipe whenever one of us kids were feeling down in the dumps. This meal at its core is comfort food. It's hearty and filling and fun to eat. This recipe will make a great addition to your meal arsenal. Sure to be a crowd-pleaser. I usually shop at Walmart because I live in a small town and there are not many options for grocery stores.
