Attract What You Want

Attract what you want.

By being what you want.

I want people who don't hold back in my life.

Those who have passion.

Those I don't have to walk on eggshells around.

Women willing to stand their ground,

And make positive changes in society.

Fighting for the rights of the voiceless.

While drinking tea and petting cats on the side.

There has to be a calm,

Through all the chaos.

Each encounter can't be filled with broken glass.

This hard exterior has much love below the surface.

Learn to only give your love to those who deserve it.

Those that love you back,

With their entire heart.

There will be broken steps on this staircase.

Each is a life lesson waiting to be learned.

Some will lift you up over the steps.

While others will trick you into stepping on them because they want you to fall.

Don't waste your love on those who spit in your face and have you kicked out of pubs.

Don't waste your thoughts on those who wish to see you at your worse and would stab you a million more times if given the chance.

Snakes in the grass will eat your time.

Like rotten apples on a peach tree.

They don't fit into your life,

And never will.

Be the change you want to see.

Be the person who is cautious,

Yet accepting.

You can't change others.

You can only change yourself,

And how you react to others.

Learn to make peace with the past.

Ignore those who cry wolf,

And recycle your name into conversations with mutual would have been acquaintances.

If someone is going to hate you based on the words of another.

They are weak.

Weak people are pawns and you don't need them.

The universe is out to get you.

You burned too many bridges,

And didn't learn to stop looking back.

Manifest this energy into something more positive.

Don't catch the dreams of others.

Like the stomach flu.

Catch your own dreams,

And never let them go.

Fight with closed fists for what is yours.

Poetry lives in your soul,

And no one can take that away from you.

Make better friends.

Make a better life.

Attract what you want.

By being what you want.
