At Word's Edge

Insight Series

What is the point of Language? If not to carry simple message?

Swap words for numbers, instantly you'd see some structure.

Make them music notes, then ask Beethoven for a quote.

Would the shape of one's vocabulary be telling about one's harmony?

...

What was your first word? Not the one you said but rather thought.

And the second, and the third? Did you speak with yourself before you got taught?

And always in your head, have you heard? Voices! and in your Heart and your gut(s)!

Silence may not so seem a thing absurd, when it quiets the but,... before the but.

...

There is but one Language, of which we're each an expression,

sharing an angle of the Sky's edge, knowing of Stars but the notion.

Our vocabulary allege(s) each our range of perception,

for a Human can only pledge, to search for definition.
